Findings for Farmers

The Missouri Fertilizer Control Board is happy to share the results from the Missouri Edge of Field Water Quality Research Program, a 5-year farmer-driven collaboration with three main research goals:

  • Quantify the effectiveness of on-farm practices
  • Demonstrate the benefits of voluntary agricultural conservation
  • Support water quality efforts aimed at meeting state soil and water stewardship goals

This research evaluates best management practices that harness the 4Rs of Nutrient Stewardship, and can help producers make on-farm decisions while improving productivity, profitability and water quality.
